AS Roma is set to clash against AC Milan at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday afternoon, counting for Serie A Round 9.
Both teams are not going through the best of times at the moment, with Paulo Fonseca’s squad on a run of four consecutive ties. They’ve lost Bryan Cristante and Henrikh Mkhitaryan due to injuries for a long time, with other players being sidelined as well but with not so serious problems. Roma are proving to be a really inconsistent team as they whether get a win with really good attacking football or lose a game to a lower tier club on a dull performance. Even so, there’s one thing we know for sure about Fonseca’s approach to the game. They will try to score goals. Their offensive mentality is something that the Portuguese brought along with him, and the personnel at his service is indicative. Edin Dzeko is one of Europe’s best goalscorers, and with Zaniolo behind his back they create havoc on opposing defenses. Roma usually score in the first half as seven of their eight goals came within the first 34 minutes of the game.
As mentioned above, AC Milan is also on a bad run of results, losing three, drawing one and winning one also, in their last 5 games in Serie A. They recently changed the man in charge, replacing Marco Giampaolo with Stefano Pioli, causing a lot of controversy from Milan’s supporters. His first game didn’t do him no good either, drawing at home in the last minutes against Lecce, a promoted club this year. Still, the Rossoneri have a lot of quality players in their ranks, such as Lucas Paqueta, Suso and Rafael Leão, players who can turn it on at any single moment.
AS Roma’s usually strong at their home soil, but their latest results have not been convincing, the same as Milan’s recent games away from San Siro. However, I do expect both teams to score a goal at least.
Both teams to score @1.64
