BATE and Rukh Brest will clash for Round 3 of the Vysshaya League.
BATE's season has been a surprise for everyone. And for the wrong reasons. The team that won 13 of the last 14 Vysshaya League titles saw their title run stopped last season by Brest and started this year with 2 defeats in the two rounds played so far. The team displayed poor defensive performance in the first two rounds, conceding 5 goals against Slavia Mozyr and Energetik-BGU. Making their debut at home, everyone expects BATE to step up their game and get their first points in the competition. Last season, BATE won 12 of their 15 league home matches which gives a clear idea of how strong the team is playing at their home turf.
Rukh Brest began the season in good shape, getting a surprising away victory against Dinamo Minsk. An incredible result for a team that just got promoted to the Vysshaya League after winning the playoff against Dnyapro. However, the team lost in round 2 against Energetik-BGU at home which stopped some of the excitement taken from round 1 win. The challenge ahead is extremely difficult as the team visits arguably the toughest stadium to play in Belarus. Even with BATE's current momentum, it's going to be really tough for Rukh Brest to get a good result.
Despite BATE's poor results at the start of the season, we expect the team to impose their dominance and get their first points in the League. However, their defensive structure has been a problem and we think Rukh Brest can get goals.
