Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen will face off at Allianz Arena in the big match of Bundesliga’s Round 13.
Since Niko Kovac’s departure that seems like Bayern Munich has entered another gear in their level of play. They’ve played 4 matches with Hans-Dieter Flick commanding the team, netting wins in all of their games, scoring 16 goals and not conceding a single one. An impressive statistic and start for the former Kovac assistant. Historically, Bayern gives absolutely no chance when playing Leverkusen at home, as they’ve won their last five meeting in front of their fans. Robert Lewandowski has been on fire during this season, with a 15-minute poker most recently against Red Star Belgrade for the Champions League, and will look to keep the momentum going Saturday.
Bayer Leverkusen currently sit in 9th place in the league, and will try to make the most out of their visit at the Allianz. Even though it’s a very hard task, they must feel good about themselves as their last two matches away from home saw them come out with a win, keeping a clean sheet in both fixtures. Their last fifteen matches on the road have been over 2.5 goals except two of them, so we’ll probably see some goals between Bayern and Leverkusen. An interesting aspect of this match is to see how Peter Bosz’s team will hold up defensively against an incredible team going forward.
The most likely thing to happen is for Bayern Munich to get away with a win. However, Leverkusen has the tools to create some problems in Munich’s defense.
