Belshina and FC Minsk will clash for the Round 1 of the Vysshaya League.
With the league starting in a few days, Belshina will be back in the Belarus’ main football league since 2016, as they are hopeful of being able to perform at a level that enables them to stay alongside the big clubs. However, they’ll have a tough opening round against FC Minsk, a team that is used to the Vysshaya League for quite some time. With the support of their fans, Belshina will try to start their campaign with a win, but for that, their maximum level and concentration is required, or else they will crumble.
On the other hand, FC Minsk is coming off a mediocre campaign on Vysshaya League, with 36 points. They secured the 10th place last season, but expectations are higher now. The board is hopeful of a higher place this year, and a win against recently promoted Belshina could be a huge motivational boost for them. For them to get a win, it would require winning on an opponent’s home soil, something that didn’t happen often last season. Either way, it should be an emotional match.
I expect a high-energy match between these two teams, with several goal chances for both. Something usual in opening rounds.
