The Charlotte Hornets host the Washington Wizards tonight at Spectrum Center, in a game between two teams aspiring for a playoff spot.
The Hornets come off a disappointing loss at home, against a lowly Atlanta Hawks team, but are looking to get back on track against the Wizards. Devonte Graham has been their main offensive weapon, leading the race for Most Improved Player of the Year award, however, Terry Rozier and Malik Monk need to contribute heavily in the scoring departament for the Hornets to have a chance. Nicolas Batum will have a hard day at the office as he’ll need to cover Bradley Beal during the game, trying to limit his production.
The Wizards have been more competitive as the season goes by. Even though they account for 4 losses in their 5 games, Bradley Beal and company were able to stay late in the games, but couldn’t close it out. In what could be their most accessible opponent in recents days, Washington has a good chance of stealing the win in Charlotte if they keep their level of play. Davis Bertans, however, has been the biggest surprise for Scott Brooks. The forward who came from the Spurs is revealing himself as an extremely valuable asset, providing an incredible spark off the bench. If he continues like this, a 6th Man Of the Year award is not out of reach.
It's expected a balanced game, decided only in the last few minutes of the game. However, with Bradley Beal on the lineup, the Wizards will have enough star power to close it out.
