The Dallas Mavericks will receive the Boston Celtics tonight at the American Airlines Center after a big win against the Bucks.
With Luka Doncic out for several weeks, the Dallas Mavericks went to Milwaukee’s building and stole the win in the final minutes of the game, breaking the Bucks 18-game winning streak. They are on a stretch at the moment where they’ll face the top 5 Eastern Conference teams, and if the task would be hard with Doncic, without him it becomes even harder. Even so, they’ll expect another incredible game from Kristaps Porzingis and the rest of the squad to add another win to their record in order to stay in the top spots of the their conference. Tim Hardaway Jr. has been on fire lately from the perimeter and the absence of Marcus Smart could give him extra room to have another great game tonight.
The Celtics are coming off two straight losses against some of their biggest rivals in the Eastern Conference. Even though both defeats were in the last minutes of each game, they let the 76ers hold the 2nd seed, falling to 3rd, 0.5 games ahead of the Heat. Marcus Smart is the major absence for Brad Stevens, as he’s out with an infection in his eye. His presence will definitely be missed in the starting lineup, mostly for his incredible defense against the opposing guards. But not everything are bad news. Gordon Hayward returned some games ago, and he’s already playing at a very good level, after a broken hand suffered a month ago. They travel to Dallas in hopes to avoid a three-game losing streak.
It’s expected a very close game tonight between these two teams, but lately, the absence of Luka Doncic could have a major impact on the Dallas team. Boston will surely want to avoid a three-game skid, so I expect them to have a bounce back game at the American Airlines Center.
