The Denver Nuggets host the Los Angeles Lakers tonight at Pepsi Center.
Riding a 4-game winning streak, the Nuggets will have their toughest challenge in a while, as they receive one of the best teams in the league, the Los Angeles Lakers. Mike Malone’s team has recovered some of their key players during this process, like Jamal Murray and Gary Harris, both who are playing at a very high level since their injuries. Michael Porter Jr. and Will Barton remain out, but their home record of 21 wins and 6 losses preview a tough game for LeBron James and company. Nikola Jokic and Anthony Davis are set to have a great matchup tonight, as both teams want to avoid going into the All-Star break with a loss.
The Los Angeles Lakers hope to distance themselves in the standings from the Denver Nuggets. For that, they’ll need to win tonight at a very tough arena, the Pepsi Center. Rajon Rondo had a terrific game against the Suns, two days ago, and it’s an important piece for the Lakers if they want to have any success this season. Anthony Davis is the only player who had his name on the injury report, but he’s probable for tonight, so expect him to suit up. With an even better record away from home than at the Staples Center, this LA team comes across as one of the best road teams in the league, enough warnings for the Nuggets to take this game seriously.
There will be some major absences for the Nuggets, something that I expect to play a role in tonight’s matchup. For that reason, the Lakers come across as the favourites for this game.
