The Denver Nuggets host the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at Pepsi Center.
The home team is not going through a great stretch at the moment, as they’ve lost 3 of their previous 5 fixtures. The last one was especially embarrassing, against a Cleveland team who’s riding one of the worst records in the league. Nikola Jokic had a really bad game with a 4-11 shooting night, and he’ll try to bounce back when they take on the Bucks in front of their fans. Denver’s team has been struggling lately, with no apparent reason, but the fight for the 2nd seed is still on the line, as every win is important for them. The Bucks will probably be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, so this stands out as a must-win game for the Nuggets. If they can neutralize Khris Middleton’s production, their chances of coming out victorious drastically increase.
On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks are currently riding a two-game losing streak, a very rare sight this season, as they have the best record in the league. Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a knee injury late in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers, and will be reevaluated later on the week. His absence could spell trouble for them, as their lead for the 1st place is not secure. They would need to continue on their winning ways in order to keep their distance from the Los Angeles Lakers. However, they travel to Denver tonight, one of the hardest places to play due to the altitude. Coming off a back-to-back, and without their star player, the Bucks would need to be at their best level to come out with a win.
It’s hard to imagine the Bucks having enough weapons to get a win in Denver, especially on a back-to-back. Giannis will be a major absence, as the Nuggets should take advantage of that fact.
