The Denver Nuggets will receive the Washington Wizards at Pepsi Center tonight.
Mike Malone’s squad is projected to be one of the best teams in the league this season. Following a heartbreaking defeat last year in Western Conference semifinals, the Nuggets look to reach new heights in the playoffs coming April. For that to happen they’ll need to battle it out in a tough conference, hoping to win as many games as possible in order to have home court advantage. Tonight it shouldn’t be a problem against the lowly Wizards who stand at 5-9 at the moment. Denver is usually a very hard team to beat at Pepsi Center due to the altitude, join that to their immensely talented team and they should run away with a win.
As for the Wizards, the only reliable scoring option they have is Bradley Beal. Veteran guard Isaiah Thomas is very inconsistent and rookie Rui Hachimura along with Thomas Bryant are 3rd options at best. Combine that with all their defensive problems and this could lead to a huge beatdown from Denver. They will try to stay in the game until the 4th quarter, to potentially have a chance of closing it out in the last minutes. If not, Washington don’t stand a chance in tonight’s matchup.
The most probable thing to happen is a Denver Nuggets win. However, this could turn ugly if they build up a lead in the first two quarters.
