The Detroit Pistons will receive the Charlotte Hornets tonight at Little Caesars Arena.
After trading away their best player, the Pistons find themselves in a tough situation for the remainder of the season. They’re coming off a close loss to the New York Knicks, and will now face a team that has won all three meetings against them this season. Still without Derrick Rose, Reggie Jackson has been the player who’s stepping up in his absence. The point guard will need to provide a scoring boost for Dwane Casey’s squad for them to have a chance at a win. Although this matchup is not expected to be one of the best in tonight’s round, it could be an interesting one, as both teams are adjusting to several departures from their rosters. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk won’t play, while Markieff Morris is listed as probable for tonight.
The Charlotte Hornets weren’t one of the most active teams of the league in the trade deadline. However, they decided to bought out Marvin Williams, a player who’s already committed to the Milwaukee Bucks. They’re riding a five-game losing streak, one of the longest in the league at the moment, as they’re hopeful of ending it in Detroit. With a 3-0 lead this season in the H2H department against the Pistons, Charlotte could apply tonight a season sweep, as a win here would serve as a big boost until the All-Star break. Cody Martin and Nicolas Batum remain out for tonight’s matchup.
This match opposes two of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference, specially after the moves in the trade deadline. Their defenses have been shaky in their recent games, so I’m expecting a high scoring affair between them.
