League leaders Paris Saint-Germain will travel to Dijon to face the team who is currently sitting rock bottom in Ligue 1.
Paris Saint-Germain come from four straight victories for their main domestic competition and there seems to be no stopping them. Even without Neymar, who is currently injured and will only return after the international break, Le Parisiens rely on Kylian Mbappe, Di Maria and Mauro Icardi to wreak havoc amongst the opposition defenses. The trio has produced goals in almost every game, single-handedly winning matches for their club. In Thomas Tuchel last 40 away games, PSG only failed to score in one of them, which almost obligates Dijon to at least score a goal if they want to have any chance of competing for points. The last four away games have produced 3.5 goals on average so it’s to be expected a high-scoring match between these two teams.
For Dijon, they sit at last place with 9 points only. Surprisingly, they’ve produced two wins in their last four games for the league, which a sign of improvement since the start of Ligue 1. However, it will be hard for Stephane Jobard’s pupils to get a result against former french champions, as they hold the league’s worst offensive record at their home regarding offensive stats. They are averaging only 0.40 of goals scored in front of their fans, something that doesn’t bode well before receiving one of the most powerful clubs in the world.
Dijon is not a good team when they play at Stade Gaston Gérard, and their attacking record shows us that. I expect Paris Saint-Germain to hold them down quite easily defensively, while bagging a few goals on the other side.
