One of the most important games in Group F takes place in Germany between Dortmund and Inter Milan. Both clubs are tied with 4 points, but Inter has the advantage as they’ve beaten the Germans in their previous match.
The home team is one of the most devastating attacks when playing in front of their fans. They will surely want to win this match so they can earn a slight edge over the club from Milan and because they will also have to travel to Spain to take on Barcelona. The only player doubtful for tonight’s clash is Marco Reus, one of the main pieces in Lucian Favre’s system, and a goal scoring threat for Borussia Dortmund. This is a hard match to predict, as both teams seem to be on the same level, but lately, Dortmund’s home games for the Champions League has been scarce on goals. Their last five UCL games at Signal Iduna Park have produced under 1.5 goals in the first-half. It looks like the first one to score will yield a tremendous advantage on winning the game.
This will be Inter Milan’s third consecutive away match. They come from two straight victories at Brescia and Bologna, but even though they’ve won, both those exhibitions were not good. Obviously Serie A is a marathon and sometimes the most important thing is to obtain the three points, while in the Champions League you need to show at one hundred percent every time if you want to have a chance. We don’t know how Antonio Conte will set up his team for tonight’s match, but a draw is not a bad result for Inter, as they will remain on the first two spots of the group. Lautaro Martinez opened the score for the Italian club in their two previous matches, and he will look to do the same tonight.
Both teams are pretty balanced, and the final result could go both ways. However, I fancy Dortmund to go all the way and get a win against Inter Milan. The Italian side looks tired, and even Conte admitted that playing 3 times a week with the same team has taken a toll on the team. The German side rested most of their main players against Wolfsburg and they are expected to be ready for tonight.
Dortmund to win @2.11
