England will take on Montenegro this Thursday at Wembley Stadium in a match for Group A of the European qualifiers.
Much has been said in the last few days about England’s Raheem Sterling and Joe Gomez. The two players were involved in a little scuffle during their game over the weekend, that surprisingly carried it over to England’s national team. Sterling apparently choked Gomez in training and got suspended for Thursday's match, and will only return to reunite with his squad the day after the contest. They currently lead their group with 15 points, with a win sealing the qualification for Euro 2020 next year. Keep an eye on Harry Kane, as he scored in all qualification matches for England, with eight goals currently.
On the other side, Montenegro has no chance of qualifying for the biggest European tournament in the World, as they are tied with Bulgaria with 3 points. They have failed to score in their last three games, and it’s hard to imagine them netting a goal at Wembley against a very good English side. Stefan Mugosa is one of their few players that could pose any danger to England’s defense, scoring eight of the last sixteen Montenegro international goals. Anything more than a defeat would be a great outcome for Faruk Hadzibegic pupils.
I’m expecting a pretty good game from England, as they will look to soften the news of Sterling and Gomez. A possibility of a high-scoring match is likely, and Marcus Rashford has been on fire lately for Manchester United. He’ll probably have some good looks at the goal against Montenegro.
