FC Porto will receive Feyenoord tonight at Estadio do Dragao, in a decisive match for Europa League Group G.
The Portuguese team enter tonight’s match urgently needing a win against Feyenoord. Marega and Zé Luis are the main offensive threats, and should definitely pose a problem for the Dutch’s defense. This group is wide open, meaning all four teams have a chance of qualifying, which could result in a high-scoring match. With 15 goals scored and 0 conceded at home for their domestic competition, Porto is usually a very hard team to beat in Dragao, as the fans create a great atmosphere. A win is the most probable result, and anything other than that would be a big surprise at this stage.
Feyenoord, on the other hand are winless away from home against Portuguese clubs. They will try to change that with a good result at Estadio do Dragao. In their last five away fixtures, they only proceeded to win one of them, scoring 4 goals and conceding 7. Rick Karsdorp is sidelines with a groin injury, an injury that can have serious impact on their defensive scheme, as Porto’s left side will most likely have Jesus Corona and Alex Telles roaming. It’s expected a very tough game for Dick Advocaat and his squad.
Porto has a great track record of starting the matches full steam ahead. I suspect this game will be no different, as they’ll most likely be on top in the 1st half.
