The Milwaukee Bucks will receive the Portland Trail Blazers tonight at Fiserv Forum, on a game that could put them atop of the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks played 10 of their 14 games on the road until now. It’s time for them to have a long home standing as they’re scheduled to play 12 of their next 15 at Fiserv Forum, starting with the Portland Trail Blazers. Even though they’ve had a hard schedule to start the season, a win tonight could place them in the 1st position of their conference, ahead the Boston Celtics who lost last night in Staples Center. Giannis is continuing his stellar performance from last year, making a case again for MVP honors, with averages of 30.5 Points per game, 13.8 Rebounds and 6.0 Assists. Without his co-star Khris Middleton in action, he’s taking care of the offensive load with ease, supported by an in-form Eric Bledsoe. Tonight’s matchup against the Blazers was supposed to be a blockbuster game for every basketball fan, but the absences of Damian Lillard and Hassan Whiteside should be a big blow for the away team to have any chance.
As for Portland, they’re currently stuck in a really bad situation. Damian Lillard is out, and Rodney Hood along Hassan Whiteside are probable to miss tonight’s game in Milwaukee. The signing of Carmelo Anthony gave them another body who can play the forward position and at the same time space the floor with his shooting, but the problem doesn’t lie there. Defense has been the main issue for Terry Stotts and his squad, as they sit 22nd in DEF RTG by league metrics. The Bucks team is lengthy, which is a problem for Portland as they’ll have the right personnel to trouble CJ McCollum and Carmelo. Wins are needed in Rip City but it doesn’t look likely to happen when they face Giannis and company.
