The Oklahoma City Thunder host the Chicago Bulls at Chesapeake Energy Arena tonight, in a game where both teams are looking to get a win to position themselves into the playoff spots.
Currently in the 8th spot of the Western Conference, the Thunder look to get back on track at home against the Bulls. Coming off a loss to the Denver Nuggets, Chris Paul and company have a good opportunity of adding another win to their record, as they’ll face one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. Not many people predicted the Thunder to be in playoff contention this season, having traded away their two superstars in Russell Westbrook and Paul George, but Billy Donovan is doing a pretty good work with the squad he got. They’re heavy favourites for tonight, and should be able to come out victorious at home.
As for the Bulls, they’re coming off an impressive win against the Clippers at United Center. Even though the LA team was without Kawhi Leonard, Lou Williams and Patrick Beverley, they’re still a pretty tough team to beat. Zach Lavine returned to the good exhibitions with 31 points and the winning basket in the last seconds of the game, something that could boost his confidence entering tonight’s game. Bulls forward Chandler Hutchinson hasn’t been cleared for contact yet, so he should miss his tenth straight game, being the only player out for Jim Boylen’s team.
Even though the Bulls come of a nice a win, I expect them to return to reality tonight in Oklahoma. Billy Donovan’s squad is a very good team at home, with a win being the most probable scenario.
