The Portland Trail Blazers receive the Washington Wizards tonight at Moda Center.
Still fighting for a playoff spot, the Blazers look to put pressure on the Memphis Grizzlies, as they try to win consecutive games in a row and still have a chance to make the postseason come April. However, Damian Lillard has not returned yet, although reports have him listed as questionable for tonight’s matchup, but time is running out for Terry Stotts and his team to go on a streak. Their next five games are winnable, as they’ll face teams with negative records. If they manage to secure a win in all of those fixtures, the playoff picture could change in the next week. Jusuf Nurkic was also expected to return after the All-Star break, but for now, the Center still doesn’t have a timetable for his return. Expect the Blazers to come out guns blazing tonight, as they still try to make the playoffs.
On the other hand, the Washington Wizards are also fighting to make the playoffs, although it’s a more far fetched scenario than the one the Blazers are going through. They need the Nets to start losing games, while they hope to go on a huge winning streak. Coming off a loss to the Kings, Scott Brooks and his team will play a back-to-back at Moda Center, an arena that’s usually very tough for opposing teams. It’s safe to say that Bradley Beal will need a huge game for them to have any chance to come out with a victory. Their fatigue could also play an important role tonight.
It’s still unknown if Damian Lillard will feature for the Portland Trail Blazers tonight. Even so, I think the home team is the clear favourite for tonight’s matchup.
