Paris Saint Germain will host Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. The German team comes on the field with a slight advantage after the 2-1 victory in the first game, a result that PSG managed to overcome with a 1-0 victory. The match is scheduled to begin at 20:00.
After two draws in 2010, the first leg of this tie finally saw one of the teams winning. Two goals from Erling Halland secured the triumph for the German side, but the goal scored by Neymar opened the doors to the quarter-finals to PSG, which in their stadium will not have the support of their fans - the game will be played behind closed doors as a spread prevention measure of COVID-19.
Paris Saint-Germain has the French championship as a formality (They are 12 points ahead of the runner-up) and so all Parisians' attention is focused on the Champions League. After the defeat in Germany, PSG won their three games, with a remarkable offensive record of 13 goals scored. In domestic competitions, the French side takes six consecutive matches scoring at least four goals. In the last five, all witnessed more than 2.5 goals and only one didn´t produce goals on both sides, something that Parisians will certainly want to avoid in the game against Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund enters the field motivated by a series of five consecutive victories, which allowed Lucien Favre's team to move up to second place in the Bundesliga. Dortmund's attack has been less exuberant than usual, as in the last five games they only reached the mark of four goals in one, but the team seems to have finally found the desired balance between the offensive and the defensive sector since only conceded two goals in the process. Playing away in this Champions League, Dortmund only failed to score on their trip to Milan (2-0), having scored at least one goal at Camp Nou and in the game against Slavia de Praha.
PSG: Thomas Meunier and Marco Verratti are suspended. Thiago Silva and Ander Herrera are injured.
Dortmund: Marco Reus is injured. Thomas Delaney is doubtful.
