Rafael Nadal and Miomir Kecmanovic face off each other in the 1/8- Finals of the Acapulco ATP 500.
After an unexpected loss to Dominic Thiem in the Quarter-Finals of the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal returned to competition in Acapulco. He produced an easy win against his countryman Pablo Andujar-Alba in straight sets, and will face up next Miomir Kecmanovic. The Spaniard had some fortune with his draw, as he only faces some serious competition starting in the Semi-Finals, with Stan Wawrinka or Grigor Dimitrov, if everything goes accordingly. He should be able to take care of the job tonight, although Kecmanovic could be a dangerous player on a good day.
Coming off a strong win against Alex de Minaur, Miomir Kecmanovic will have an even harder task tonight when he’s up against Rafael Nadal tonight. They have never played against each other, with this matchup being a good opportunity for the 20-year-old to show his worth. It will be pretty tough to advance to the Quarter-Finals, but one thing that the Serbian has shown already, is that he won’t give up until the final point. Even so, Nadal is the clear cut favourite.
Rafael Nadal should have no trouble winning tonight. What will be interesting to see is if he’ll do it quickly or if Kecmanovic will give him some trouble.
