The Wizards host the Chicago Bulls tonight, in a game of playoff contenders at Capital One Arena.
Isaiah Thomas was sidelined for the last 5 games for the Wizards, until two days ago when he returned to the lineup against the Pistons. In 26 minutes, he scored 23 points and had 6 assists, leading his team to a much needed win. With Thomas Bryant out, the team from the capital is looking for another reliable scorer, and former All-Star could be the answer. Rui Hachimura, the 9th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, has been diagnosed with an injury as well, making the Wizards frontcourt even thinner. Lauri Markkanen could be headed for a big game tonight, someone they will need to keep an eye on if the Wizards want to start a winning streak.
You never know with the Bulls. One night they win to one of the best teams in the league, even though they were without Kawhi Leonard, and the other night they lose to an average Oklahoma City Thunder team. They have the potential to be a playoff team in the Eastern Conference, but something’s holding them back. Jim Boylen has been very criticized throughout the season, but reports coming from the Bulls say that he’s a lock to remain as the head coach. Zach Lavine and Lauri Markkanen were supposed to have a bounce back year from last season, but they’re both very inconsistent. The Wizards are one of the worst defensive teams in the league, so tonight’s a good chance for them to show their worth.
Neither team is a good defensive side, so I’m expecting a very fast-paced game, resulting in a high scoring game.
