Joel Embiid had a rough game yesterday against the Raptors. In a place of very bad memories for the Cameroonian since last year’s playoffs, his performance was close to disgraceful as the 76ers went on to lose the game by 5 points.
With 0 points in 0-11 from the field and 0-3 from the free-throw line, Joel Embiid had the worst game of his career, something he didn’t even believe.
“I can't have this type of production,” Embiid said. “I would have never thought I would be here talking about zero points in an NBA game, but it is what it is. Some nights you make shots, some nights you don't. Some nights you're hot, some nights you're cold.”
The last time a 7-footer had this type of performance was 6 years ago when Andrew Bynum was on the Cleveland Cavaliers and curiously shot 0-11 as well to go for 0 points against the Detroit Pistons. For Brett Brown’s team to have any chance at a deep run for the Larry O’Brien trophy, both Embiid and Simmons need to be at their best production-wise, or else they’ll be easy prey for the Milwaukee Bucks or the Toronto Raptors. Both these players combined for 10 points and 11 turnovers in yesterday’s game.
