The 30-year-old didn't want his teammates to remain rusty... So he gifted them baskets
LeBron James and Anthony Davis had it going yesterday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They combined for 82 points, with James scoring 32 and Davis 50, the best scoring duo since Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol, who had a 92-point game at Madison Square Garden in 2009.
Limited by foul trouble in the 1st half, James was supposed to have a quiet game at Staples Center, but that was not the case. In an excellent shooting display from “The King”, he finished with a quiet 32 points and 13 assists on 6/8 from three-point range. At this point in his career it’s amazing how he can keep giving these type of performances night in and night out, proving the doubters he still has a lot left in the tank. Currently in the top spots for MVP honors, the 34-year-old is on a mission to give the Lakers their 18th championship banner.
Following LeBron’s footsteps is Anthony Davis. The forward finished with 50 points on great efficiency (20-29 FG’s) to top the Timberwolves in yesterday’s contest. It was the 3rd time in his career that he achieved the 50-point mark, writing his name in the records book along James as one of the best scoring duo performances ever. AD’s health was questioned before the season started, with many people saying that he couldn’t hold up the entire season, as he’s been somewhat fragile over the course of the last several years, but even in that departement he’s being able to manage himself perfectly. When this duo is on, is very hard for the rest of the league to stop them, as they can have these displays on any given night.
