Jimmy Butler offered baskets to every teammate20 April 2020 / Miguel Coelho
The 30-year-old didn't want his teammates to remain rusty... So he gifted them baskets
The Orlando Magic hosted the Miami Heat at the Amway Center yesterday in a Florida clash. Steve Clifford's team started the pre-season on a high note with three straight wins, but are facing some struggles lately, with three defeats in a row. Something that could explain those losses are Aaron Gordon's performances. The 24-year-old forward had a terrific start to the pre-season, but in the last meetings he's having some problems shooting the ball with 6-34 in field goals. Evan Fournier and Nikola Vucevic were the most consistent players with 16 and 14 points respectively.
On the other side, the Miami Heat are off to a strong start as they yet have to lose a game in pre-season, with 5 wins and 0 losses. Coming off a disappointing Game 7 loss to the Toronto Raptors, Jimmy Butler is still trying to find himself in Spoelstra's system, but truth be told, he looks like he's in mid-season form already as he notched 23 points along 6 rebounds and 6 assists in a 107-98 win. The new Heat addition will be a key player in the team's playoff hopes this upcoming season.
Giannis Antetokoumpo is the NBA's General Managers favorite to win the MVP trophy once again. And they could be right. The Greek Freak is dominating each opponent even in pre-season, as he posted 26 points and 14 rebounds against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Khris Middleton had himself a nice game as well, as he's usually the Bucks second-fiddle in terms of scoring the basketball, with 18 points and 7 assists.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be have a tough task making the playoffs this year, as the Western Conference is completely stacked in talent and super-teams. However, don't count Karl-Anthony Towns out. The center is poised to have a MVP type-season statistically, and the way he finished last year is indicative of that. Another nice boost that Ryan Saunders could have is Robert Covington. He missed a major part of last season due to injury problems but appears to be back on track, with major statlines in his previous games. Towns finished the game with 16 points and Robert with 13, in a 118-96 blowout for the Bucks.
