Chasing an easy target of 154, Rohit Sharma scored 85 off 43 balls hitting six fours and six sixes as India chased the target in 15.4 overs. Batting first Bangladesh posted 153/6 in 20 overs. Bangladeshi opening batsmen started very well. They contributed 54 runs from the first powerplay. But India's two main spinners, Chahal and Washington Sundar, were responsible for keeping the Bangladeshi batsmen quiet. Chahal took two important wickets and Washington Sundar got only one wicket. After a poor performance, Indian bowler Khaleel Ahmed continued to fail to impress.
While batting first Bangladeshi opening batsmen Liton Das and Mohammad Naim started very well. Liton and Naim their opening partnership contributed 60 runs on the scoreboard. On the 13th over Chahal took dangers Soumya Sarkar's wicket and after that, all the Bangladeshi batsmen failed to score runs. Both the Indian spinner Chahal and Washington Sundar were very economical. Bangladeshi’s last seven overs had only brought them 49 runs for the cost of four wickets.
