Ronaldo could leave Juventus | Man Utd and PSG are candidates01 April 2020 / Miguel Coelho
The Portuguese star could be on his way out this summer. Where could he land?
Martin Christensen Braithwaite is the striker finally chosen to reinforce the damaged attack of FC Barcelona. The culé entity made its arrival official on Thursday and the Danish player joining from Leganés signed a contract for the remainder of this campaign and four more seasons, while the Catalan club has paid 18 million euros - his termination clause - for the forward. The desired piece that Quique Setién’s team needed so much will have a termination clause of 300 million euros.
The soap opera has come to an end. They have been weeks of negotiations, intentions and frustrated arrivals but finally, Quique Setién will have one more striker to reinforce his damaged attack after the injuries of Dembélé and Luis Suárez and the departure of Carles Pérez in the last transfer window.
In January, given the impossibility of closing Valencia’s Rodrigo or another contrasted forward and at a good price, Barça dismissed reinforcing its offensive line, but Dembélé's injury precipitated the search again. La Liga allowed them to sign a new player on Monday, once they gave the approval to the medical reports that ruled that the French international will be six months off the pitch due to injury, and this Thursday the club has confirmed the arrival of Braithwaite. Willian José was the first candidate, but there was no economic agreement with Real Sociedad, and despite having a pre-agreement with Getafe for Angel, critical voices for the player’s age frustrated his arrival to the Camp Nou.

The Danish attacker, 28, arrives from Leganés. This season, between LaLiga and the Copa del Rey he has scored 8 goals. He has participated in 23 games, in which he has started in all of them. The player is versatile, a characteristic that has proved decisive to sign for Setién’s Barcelona: he can play as a center forward, as a playmaker behind the forwards and as a left-winger. This versatility is what has caused the Cantabrian coach to insist on this option and to approve his signing.
Braithwaite has great experience since he has played, in addition to LaLiga, in the competitions of Denmark, France, and England. He began his career at Esbjerg fB in his hometown, while he later had his first experience abroad playing in the ranks of Toulouse, where he spent four seasons and came to play a total of 136 games. From Ligue 1 he went to the second division of English football after his arrival in Middlesbrough, although he left on loan shortly after to Girondins de Bordeaux before returning to the British team. That was his last spell before joining Leganés in January 2019, which led to this new challenge with Barcelona, without a doubt the most important of his career.
"I am very excited. It is a dream come true. Everyone who plays football dreams of playing for Barça and here I am. I want to win many titles. In Barça, there is a lot of pressure and many expectations set. I hope to win as much as possible," were the first words of the Danish striker as a new culé player, before trying to describe himself and giving details of how he can contribute to the Catalan club: "I am a technical player, I am also physical, fast and strong, and I would say that my best feature is that I am intelligent. I try to move around the field and study the game. I am a football studious and I always try to improve my game. Of course, I am a scorer and I hope to score many goals," he concluded.
