After leaving Juventus to join PSG in 2018, everyone expected that the veteran goalkeeper ended his career in Paris, but the adventure in the French capital lasted only one season. The goalkeeper returned home. He signed a one-year contract and decided not to remove the captain's armband from Chiellini as well as his number owned by Szczesny - Buffon just wanted to return to Juventus, the same club that during his best years chose to stay after the scandal which ended with the relegation to Serie B.
According to a source close to Juventus, everything points that the club will offer a new contract to the goalkeeper in the coming days, at a time when no one knows how the Italian championship will end due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Buffon is currently tied with Paolo Maldini in appearances in the Serie A (647). Signing for another season means that the goalkeeper will become the player with the most appearances in Serie A, which he has won on nine occasions.
