Godin close to leave Inter08 April 2020 / Rui Sousa
The defender failed to adapt to Conte's tactical system and could leave in the next transfer window.
Lyon's manager Rudi Garcia was without a few important options for the midfield position as Thiago Mendes was injured and Martin Terrier was ill. Rayan Cherki was already on the bench against SL Benfica and was called once again for yesterday's match against Zenit. This time, the 16-year-old entered on 74th minute and become the second-youngest player to appear in a Champions League match. Lyon didn´t manage to get a good result but we might remember this day in the future.
If Cherki (16 years and 102 days) had entered against Benfica three weeks earlier, he would become the youngest player ever to play in the Champions League. But that didn't happen so the record still remains with the Nigerian left-back Céléstine Babayaro (16 years and 87 days). Notable for his times at Chelsea, Babayaro made his Champions League debut for Anderlecht, in an away match against Steaua on November 23, 1994.
That evening, Babayaro was named for Anderlecht's first time but he didn't remain long on the pitch. The left-back was sent-off on the 37th minute and became also the youngest player to see a red card in the competition.
